Every inmate at the Jefferson County facility is entitled to two one-hour visits per week. The visitation schedule runs Monday through Friday with multiple time slots. Morning visits are at 7:15-8:15 AM, 8:30-9:30 AM, and 9:45-10:45 AM. Afternoon visits are at 12:00-1:00 PM and 1:15-2:15 PM. Blue on the schedule denotes female visit hours. The facility does not divulge specific inmate visitation times and dates to the public.
Visitors must register with their full name, address, and the inmate's name. Arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time. Valid photo ID with date of birth is required. All visitors fill out an information sheet upon arrival. That information gets entered into a database and verified against the photo ID. The facility reserves the right to search any visitor. K-9s may be used for contraband and drug detection. A standard of dress is enforced for all visitors.
No money is accepted during visits. Since June 15, 2013, the facility stopped taking cash at visit time. Postal money orders may be mailed to the inmate instead. This rule applies to all visitors without exception.
